Grand Junction-based operation stacked for SKUSA SummerNationals warm-up race weekend

Article By: CRG-USA

GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO (July 5, 2012) – Following a busy month of May, the CRG-USA operation spent most of June preparing for what will be another busy few weeks in July. Thankfully, the events will be at the base of the operation, competing at the upcoming Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge and Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway. The Colorado facility will host two of the largest karting events of the state in 2013, with the CRG-USA racers hoping the home track advantage goes in their favor both weekends.

“It’s certainly great to have these two events at our home track,” stated CRG-USA owner Stacey Cook. “The two events in 2011 here were exciting and I think this year will be bigger and better. Our CRG racers are ready for the challenge, and have been preparing for the past few weeks to show just how well our products work here at CRG-USA. I’m confident in the drivers we have under our tent this coming weekend that we will see CRG chassis taking a number of wins, which I think will help carry momentum into the SummerNationals a few weeks later.”

CRG-USA has a stellar driver roster for the July 5-7 weekend, contesting rounds four and five of the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge. The S1 Pro Stock Moto category will see defending S2 Pro Tour champion Sabré Cook carry the CRG-USA banner. Her first three events of the 2013 season in the S1 category equated into three podiums - two at the SpringNationals in April and a victory at the Rocky Mountain PKC in Dacono, Colorado. Competing at her home track with a number of Pro Tour regulars expected for the event, Cook is favored to be among the contenders. A full roster of S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto drivers will be under the CRG-USA tent. Four Rocky Mountain PKC championship contenders Christian Schureman, Lindsay Brewer, Jack Bradley and Tase Flores will be in contention on the weekend. Colorado driver Logan Hancock will make his series debut with Texan Jerry Rhodes coming up to prepare for the upcoming SummerNationals.

The top three in the S4 Master Stock Moto championship chase reside in the CRG-USA operation. David Conyers is the current leader with Scott Allen and Jet Davis trailing. They will lead a solid group that includes Colorado drivers Rob Van Deren, Daryl Mackie and John Davella - making his first series start. Texan Mike Rhodes will also be in Grand Junction from RPM Motorsports. Evan Roshak is coming off his first win of the season at round three in the S5 Junior Stock Moto, and will look to continue the winning streak during the Grand Junction double weekend.

CRG-USA drive Austin Versteeg is the current SKUSA Pro Tour TaG Junior championship leader after his two top-four finishes at the SpringNationals. He will use the Rocky Mountain PKC weekend to prepare for an extension in his point lead advantage when the Pro Tour returns two weeks later. Versteeg already has two RMPKC wins on the season, sweeping the Utah weekend. He will be joined by Riley Cook, making his Junior debut. Tristin MacLeod earned his first RMPKC podium finish last month in the TaG Cadet division, and is ready to do battle in Grand Junction in search of his first win of the season. TaG Senior will welcome the return of long time Colorado racer, Giovanni Velasquez making his first series start with CRG-USA in over a year. Cory Ross returns to do battle in TaG Master, joined by newcomer Hugh Templeton.

CRG-USA is an official K1 RaceGear, MG Tires, and DDR Engines race team, and ready to provide the best trackside service in 2013 at the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge and other selected events and series. The company is also continuing to add to its growing dealer network with new locations throughout the United States.
