P1 ENGINES COMES HOME WITH FOUR TOP FIVE RESULTS IN SKUSA PRO KART CHALLENGE

2/6/2013

"P1 Engines powered drivers start season off strong"

February 6, 2013 - With a record number of entries at the opening round of the 2013 SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Kart Challenge, P1 Engines powered drivers would take home an impressive set of results. Taking place at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California, a combination of speed, consistency and hard work would award P1 Engines with four top five finishes.

"The SKUSA and Pro Kart Challenge staff put on a great show and provide a lot of time on track," explained P1 Engines Owner Jesus Vasquez. "The events are run fantastic and I am happy to point my west coast customers to this series. Our four top five finishes provide a great start to the campaign and we will look to improve upon them in the upcoming second round."

Leading the way for the P1 contingent would be California pilot Austin Elliott, as he would see action in the stout field of TaG Senior drivers. With an up and down two days on track, Elliott would show his speed in practice as he paced the field, but would falter slightly when the wheel-to-wheel action commenced. Claiming seventh and eighth place results in his two heat races, Elliott would rebound in Saturday afternoon's main event to drive forward to a second place result.

TaG Masters pilot Steve Dzurilla and Paul Bonilla would add another pair of solid results as the duo would claim fourth and fifth place finishes respectively. Bonilla showed his speed throughout the weekend but on track contact would send him to the back of the field. Driving forward to salvage a fifth place finish, Bonilla will look to top the blocks at round two. Buttonwillow would be Dzurilla's first event aboard a P1 Engines prepared Leopard and he would run in the top five throughout the event.

Tanner Wattenbarger and Royal Mckee would utilize P1 Engines power in the TaG Junior ranks, as the duo would compete in the first SKUSA Pro Kart Challenge event. Getting up to speed throughout Friday's practice day, the pair would battle hard when the green flag flew and end the day with fifth and ninth place efforts.

P1 Engines will continue to offer trackside support and engine lease options for the SKUSA Pro Kart Challenge, SKUSA Pro Tour and several other events throughout the United States. Interested parties are asked to contact P1 Engines at Champions@P1Engines.com
