December 19, 2012 - Closing out their 2012 season only one month ago, Top Kart USA is set to attack the 2013 schedule beginning next week (December 28-30, 2012) at the opening round of the World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup program. "We have been very busy ever since the final WKA round in 2012," explained Top Kart USA's Billy McLaughlin. "We made the switch to the Top Kart brand and immediately attacked the annual Robopong Endurance event and race for the Dan Wheldon Memorial Cup as well as the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. From there, we shifted our focus to the 2013 season by prepping team karts, acquiring new drivers, stocking a full line of products and putting together a solid arrive and drive program. 2013 is going to be a good year."
With several drivers making the switch to the Top Kart brand, the Top Kart USA team will have multiple years of knowledge and experience on their side. With Top Kart drivers all racing under the Top Kart USA banner, Texan and multi-time WKA champion Mason Chelootz will make a charge in a variety of different classes while newcomers Emerson Reed, Tommy Andersen and Zach Holden, both front-runners in their respective divisions, have their sights set high in Daytona. With Andersen and Chelootz now both being aboard Top Kart chassis, both the Leopard Only champion and TaG Senior champion will now be teammates on equal equipment for the 2013 season.
Patrick Olsen will join the Top Kart family, as he will compete in both the Yamaha and KPP divisions in the senior ranks while Jackson Mears, Blake Deister and Chase Jones will join him in the Yamaha Senior ranks. Jones will also compete in the TaG Senior division where he will join Christian Ross while Steve Schiewer, Scott Ferris, John Ferris III and Bobby Cummings will battle in the TaG Masters class. Abby McLaughlin will compete in the Yamaha Junior class while Alexander Kardashian will do battle in KPP Junior. Andrew Bische will also join the Top Kart family by competing in the Cadet Junior Sportsman division.
The list of Top Kart pilots does not stop their as Reed will join Julia Boos in the Yamaha and KPP Junior categories while Julia's older brother Mark Boos will battle with some of the country's best in TaG Senior and IAME Senior. The Johnston duo of Garrett and Jake Johnston will also make the move to the senior classes as they will both trade in their junior powered karts and compete in TaG Senior. Ryan Raffa will run under the Top Kart USA banner in both the Yamaha and KPP Junior divisions as he joins Killian Keavny Jr. while 2012 series champion Tommy Andersen will be back to defend his title, this time utilizing a Top Kart USA entry in the ultra competitive TaG Senior ranks. Cabit Bigham will also enter TaG Senior while Lance Fenderson will compete in Cadet Junior Sportsman and Ryan Schartau, Eli Fox and the cousin duo of Tyler and Connor Ferris will see action in Yamaha Rookie.

Competing in Komet Sportsman, Yamaha Junior Sportsman and Cadet Junior Sportsman, Holden will be a busy man as he tries his attempt at a WKA triple crown, awarded to a driver who claims three titles in the same season.
McLaughlin continued, "The transition from one brand to another has been easy and almost effortless. We have begun a great working relationship with Grand Products and the Top Kart family that we hope will flourish into race wins and championships in the very near future."
"All the guys from Top Kart USA and McLaughlin Motorsports are doing a great job," explained Top Kart importer and Grand Products owner Mike Tetreault. "They are always one step ahead of the game in their planning and execution. We all can't wait to get the 2013 started in just a few short days."
