Nine drivers to represent Northern California operation in Las Vegas
SAN RAMON, CA (November 13, 2012) – Team Aluminos/PSL Karting will travel to Las Vegas for the prestigious Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVI outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on November 14-18. The Northern California operation has put in the extra hours and track time preparing each driver and their ride for the biggest event in the karting world. Each prep time tailored around the needs of each driver and kart, the Aluminos staff has put in every effort to ensure all nine drivers will be in contention for SuperNationals glory.
Defending SKUSA Pro Tour S1 champion Daniel Bray returns to Las Vegas looking for something he has yet to achieve, a SKUSA SuperNationals victory. The New Zealand driver was the quickest driver a year ago, having to overcome a number of circumstances to claw his way back to third place. This year, the GP driver has traveled across the world competing in events, all leading up to this week. A tough SummerNationals put him behind in the title chase, entering the Pro Tour finale in third, but a victory in Vegas can improve his position. Aluminos has scored victory at the SuperNationals in Stock Moto category with leading driver coach Tom Dyer behind the wheel. Dyer will once again pilot an Aluminos-prepared GP entry in search of his third victory to put him in elite status for the SKUSA SuperNationals.
Aluminos will support two drivers in the S2 Semi-Pro category. Colorado driver Austin Schimmel is looking to complete his first Senior season on a high note. The 2011 S5 Junior Stock Moto Pro Tour champion and SuperNationals winner has had a challenging first year in the category, but has shown the speed to compete for a podium aboard his Aluminos-prepared GP kart. Mexican driver Allan Cesarman will compete in his first SuperNationals. The 15-year old has spent time with the Aluminos squad in Northern California, preparing for the event and will join Schimmel aboard an Aluminos-prepared GP kart.
Jonathon Allen will be the lone S4 Master Stock Moto entry for Aluminos. The Californian has been quick throughout the 2012 season, and is looking to improve on his two DNF results from the past two years at the SuperNationals. Marcus Armstrong will round out the stock moto group for Aluminos. The 12-year old New Zealand Yamaha champion will compete in the S5 Stock Moto at his first SuperNationals.
Larry Fraser and Jeff Deehan will compete in the TaG Master category under the Aluminos tent. Fraser, who carries the #3 SKUSA plate from his results in 2011, has only recorded a best finish of 10th in the past four SuperNationals. Moving over to a Tony Kart, and with the assistance of the Aluminos tent, Fraser is expecting a chance at the podium this year. Deehan will make his third straight SuperNationals start, his first working with Aluminos. He will pilot his personal Rosso Korsa kart with guidance from the Aluminos staff. Also joining Aluminos for the first time is NorCal driver Jason Pettit. The TaG Cadet driver scored a victory at the SummerNationals in Utah in his Pro Tour debut and is looking for the same as he makes his first SuperNationals start.
