"Eight Team MDD drivers look to strike it rich in Las Vegas"

Article By: Race Tech Development

November 9, 2012 - Newly formed Team Motorsports Driver Development (Team MDD) will take a host of eight talented drivers to the 16th edition of the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Taking place at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino just off the famous 'Strip' in Las Vegas, Nevada, Team MDD will have drivers competing in multiple different classes throughout the five-day event. With equipment already on the road traveling from their home base in Indianapolis, Indiana, Team MDD pilots will look to hit the jackpot in Sin City and take home the checkers on Super Sunday.

"I am very excited to head to Las Vegas and have our first go at the event with my own karting team," expressed Team MDD and Praga USA Owner Jay Howard. "We will have eight guys under the team tent, seven on Praga chassis and we will have drivers in all three of the highly competitive TaG divisions, Cadet, Junior and Senior as well as one driver in the shifter ranks."

With the majority of their drivers coming from the TaG Senior category, Team MDD will enter Evan Mehan, Roger Ralston Jr., Juan Diego Maldonaldo and Hunter Ceto in the action packed class. With over 100 drivers descending on Las Vegas from around the world, all four Team MDD drivers will look to take their Praga chassis to the front and challenge for solid race results.

Only one Team MDD driver will pull double duty throughout the event and that will come from Hunter Ceto as he will also enter the S2 class. Running in his single speed Leopard powered kart for the morning sessions, Ceto will slam gears in the afternoon as he does battle in the six-speed S2 class in the afternoon.

Leading the Junior contingent of drivers will be Rotax Grand Finals Team USA member Juan Manuel Correa. Jet-setting his way to Las Vegas and then over to Europe the following week, Correa will take it one event at a time as he looks to battle hard in the 80 plus kart TaG Junior division.

Three Team MDD drivers will see action in the TaG Cadet division as Jack Miller, Max Hewitt and Michael Beniyahia will all utilize their Ogden USA prepared Mini-Rok powerplants. With Miller and Hewitt running aboard a Praga chassis, Beniyahia will continue to utilize an OTK branded chassis as all three have victory as their goal.

Howard continued, "With a strong group of drivers and tuners in place, and with the factory squad coming from Europe, I am confident that we can perform well in Las Vegas. While every driver wants to win, we know that each and every one of them have their own goals and we will do whatever possible to ensure that they achieve them."
