November 8, 2012 - Looking for his best chance to stand atop the podium, up and coming pilot Max Hewitt will join Team MDD for the sixteenth running of the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Taking place November 14-18th on the grounds of the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in the famous city of Las Vegas, Nevada, Hewitt will utilize an Ogden USA powered Praga chassis in his quest for a SuperNationals victory.
"I am really excited to work with the guys from Team MDD as well as with my new coach Jay Howard," explained Max Hewitt. "I have already tested the Praga Kart and it went very well. I can't wait to get to Las Vegas."
Taking on the TaG Cadet division and a strong field of pilots, Hewitt will look to build momentum off of success early in the 2012 racing season. Running consistently in the top-ten at the United States Rotax Grand Nationals back in August, the future champion is hoping a SuperNats podium is in the cards next weekend.
"Max has great natural talent and quickly got up to speed at our recent test at the New Castle Motorsports Park facility last week," expressed Team MDD and Praga USA Owner Jay Howard. "Working with our great crew and sharing data with other drivers under the tent will be beneficial for all of our TaG Cadet drivers and I am confident of great results."
Hewitt, who qualified eighth in the Rotax Mini Max class in the August Rotax Grand National event, progressed through the three-heat race flight format without incident and would start 'Championship Saturday' from the sixth position. Running inside the feature event inside the top ten, the now Praga Kart driver was forced to retire with a broken front bumper. Looking to turn his luck around and strike it rich in Las Vegas, Hewitt will compete with the Team MDD operation.
Howard continued, "Max is a fast learner, he responded great at the New Castle test. With our equipment, engineering staff and my coaching, I am looking to win the SuperNats."
