"SKUSA Pro Tour titles on the line in Sin City"
Article By: Race Tech Development
November 6, 2012 - Ready to close out the 2012 karting season, Grand Products, importer of the Top Kart product line, is set to house a huge team tent at the annual SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Organizing their race program with Top Kart USA, twenty Top Kart drivers from around the world will descend on the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino just off The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. Searching for the top step of the podium and SuperNats glory, the recent World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer's Cup manufacturer champion will enter a host of pilots in TaG Cadet, TaG Junior and the ultra competitive and very strong TaG Senior divisions.
"We have a big team heading to Vegas this year and in my opinion, it is the strongest group of drivers we have ever had at the SuperNats," explained Grand Products owner and Top Kart importer Mike Tetreault. "I know it will be tough, but I have confidence in my team, the tuners and the product and I know that we will have chances at victory in a multitude of classes."
With the Grand Products assisting the nationally recognized Top Kart USA program in housing multiple similar branded drivers in the same team tent, these drivers come from teams that include: De La O Motorsports, McLaughlin Motorsports, Bill and Sharon Barros Empire Karts operation, PKS, CRP Racing and the European powerhouses of Emilia Kart and the Top Kart factory programs, a talented field of drivers and tuners have been assembled in what could be the most decorated team in recent years.
Leading the charge in the TaG Senior field coming into Vegas is current SuperKarts! USA Pro Tour points leader Phil De La O. On the strength of four top-five results including two victories in just four events, De La O will look to win the biggest event of the season and be crowned the champion come the conclusion of Super Sunday. With that goal in mind and nearly 120 fellow TaG Senior drivers looking to claim their stake in Vegas, De La O will need to be on his game on the temporary circuit.
Multi-time 2012 WKA race winner and Texan Mason Chelootz was set to skip the SuperNats to view the Formula One event in his home state, but chose to fight for the win rather than spectate at the premiere World Championship event. Claiming multiple race wins and championships in the World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup, Chelootz will be a threat for the TaG Senior victory as he looks to challenge the talent-filled field. Joining Mason in the TaG Senior field will be the always fast and consistent Chris Wehrheim and the current third place driver in the SKUSA Pro Tour points Austin Elliott. Wehrheim has proven to be fast throughout the 2012 racing season, scoring multiple victories up and down the East Coast. Gunning for the victory in Vegas, Wehrheim will be on his game as he looks to progress through the heat races and have a solid starting spot on Super Sunday. Elliott will once again work with long-time karting tuner Wesley Boswell as the duo looks sneak up on their competition and gain another podium result.
Multi-time IKF champion Kolby Araki will try his hand in the TaG Senior field as he looks to continue his winning ways on the western half of the United States. Always a front-runner in whatever he gets behind the wheel of, Araki will battle some of the biggest names in karting as he looks to challenge the front of the field.

With over 100 drivers entered in the TaG Senior field, the TaG Junior field will top out near eighty as some of the world's best up-and-coming drivers look for their shot to win in Las Vegas. Four drivers will make the trek from Europe as Sofia Floersch, Mauro Auricchio, Luis Ramirez and Marcu Dionisios will join American drivers Nick Ramirez and Wyatt May in the competitive field. Racing out of the Empire Karts stable, Nick Ramirez has been a force in the western half of the United States. Looking to head to enter Vegas and challenge for the win, Ramirez will also be gaining knowledge and experience along the way.
Wyatt May will be pitted with the Top Kart program but compete under the PKS banner with help from Glenn Araki. May has been a strong contender in the International Kart Federation programs throughout 2012 and would like nothing more than to cap off the season with a victory in the city that never sleeps.

The youngest racing division of the week will be the TaG Cadet class as seventy drivers will once again do battle on the barrier-lined circuit in the parking lot of the Rio hotel. With a field full of American and Canadian champions along with experienced drivers from around the world, five Top Kart drivers will look to show the way to the front as they all have hopes of standing on the SKUSA podium.
Hunter Corbitt enters the SuperNationals as the current SKUSA Pro Tour TaG Cadet point leader and would like nothing more to claim the race win and title come week's end. Always at the front of the field, Corbitt will need to be on his game, as talented drivers from multiple different platforms will enter the TaG Cadet class. Already standing on the top step of the podium in SKUSA Pro Tour competition, Corbitt will look to take the victory and biggest win of his young karting career.
Making the switch to Top Kart for the annual event and onwards into 2013 will be long-time Sportsman front-runner Zach Holden. Trading in his purple kart for a new blue machine, Holden will enter the TaG Cadet division and will look to get up to speed early. Holden, who has been winning races up and down the East Coast throughout 2012, will work hard to ensure he performs and represents his new chassis and team well in Las Vegas. Kaden Harter will be back behind the wheel of his Vortex Mini Rok powered Top Kart as he looks to stake his claim in SKUSA competition.
