10/29/2012

Article By: MRP Motorsport

THREE OAKS, MI (October 29, 2012) - MRP Motorsport will be hosting their first winter-time seminar on Saturday, November 24. This four-hour workshop is dedicated to data acquisition and will be taught by professional driver and driver coach, Marc Miller.

“We are looking forward to hosting this event at our Three Oaks, MI location and are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable person on-staff. This will be a great topic to kick-off our MRP Winter Seminar Series, now in our tenth year,” said Garry Lobaugh, President of MRP Motorsport.

For the Saturday, November 24 data acquisition seminar, the main focus will be not only the operation of the AIM/mychron data acquisition system, but also how to analyze and optimize the data provided to improve driver, engine and chassis performance. Additional focus will be placed on gauging driver performance and consistency. Using the optional GPS feature of the MyChron 4 system, students will learn how to better understand the natural trends of their driver and how to improve their performance and better tune the chassis to their driving style. This particular seminar is not limited only to kart racers. Many car classes utilize AIM data acquisition and given their RaceStudio software will be featured, car racers are encouraged to attend as well.

“Data acquisition does not have to be a black art or confusing,” said Miller. “In fact, I have been to similar seminars and have found them both overwhelming and confusing. My goal is to provide racers and mechanics with the tools necessary to understand how data acquisition works, how to read it and then how to put it to use in a simple and effective way. Everyone might have different needs when it comes to what they want to learn and that is welcomed.”

- Location for this seminar is at MRP Motorsport's Three Oaks, MI location (visit www.mrpmotorsport.com for directions).

- Cost per attendee is $65.00, junior drivers are free with parent

- This seminar will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and will roughly last four hours.

- RSVP by emailing schools@mrpmotorsport.com and providing your name, # of people attending and any questions regarding the seminar.

Additional “MRP Winter Seminar Series” seminars will be held throughout the winter months. The series has been instrumental in assisting both beginning and veteran karting enthusiasts in reducing the learning curve for several aspects of kart racing, including maintenance, setup and mechanical functions. In conjunction with the seminars, each Saturday seminar will also serve as an "Open House" for the MRP retail facility with shop tours, product technical information and general customer assistance.
