"Strong, ten member team to contest for Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals berths"

Trois-Rivières, Quebec - September 21, 2012 - In one of the final events of 2012, Team PSL Karting has arrived in Englewood, Colorado for the Pan American Rotax Max Challenge. A strong, ten-member team will take to The Track at Centennial, a 0.8 mile, 21-turn facility located just south of Denver. As an International Rotax Max Challenge event, Team PSL drivers in DD2, Senior and Junior will be vying for the some of the final Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) berths, and will look to join the eight PSL drivers who have already qualified: Pier-Luc Ouellette, Alan Rudolph, Rene Martinelli, Scott Campbell, Luc Sauriol, Fritz Leesmann, Kristina Vorndran and Zachary Claman-DeMelo.

Leading the charge for Team PSL Karting is shifter kart standout Fritz Leesmann. Already qualified for the RMCGF via his Gatorz Challenge of the Americas Rotax DD2 championship title earned earlier this year, Leesmann will take on both the Rotax DD2 and Rotax Senior divisions while in Colorado. The former SKUSA Pro Tour champion and California native has been staying sharp behind the wheel of his PSL Karting/CRG, and just last weekend scored the S1 Pro Stock Moto win during the Streets of Lancaster event. Joining Leesmann is rising star Collin Daley. After just missing the top-ten at the 2012 US Rotax Max Grand Nationals, the Jamaican karting star will jump into the two-speed DD2 kart in hopes of achieving Pan Am glory. Canada’s Alessandro Bizzotto will round out Team PSL Karting’s DD2 line-up, and will look to continue strong results after recently taking vice-championship honours in the Coupe du Quebec series.

In Rotax Senior, Leesmann will be joined by two strong title contenders. After just missing the RMCGF berth from the 2012 Western Canadian Championships, Canadian Kevin King will be back in action looking to score the Pan Am title. Florida native Dan Roeper will also be back with Team PSL Karting this weekend, coming off strong runs at the Rotax Summer Shootout and US Rotax Max Grand Nationals.

Three Americans will take on the challenging Rotax Junior division in Colorado, and all three enter after a strong showing at the US Rotax Max Grand Nationals. Junior rookie and Utah native Austin Versteeg will strive to continue his success in the Rotax Junior class, as a breakout year has seen the rising talent on the podium in both Gatorz and SKUSA action. Two PSL newcomers will join Versteeg, as California resident Alex Keyes comes off a solid top-ten finish at the US Nationals, and Houston, Texas native Michael Ilavia will strive for strong results this weekend.

Rounding out the Team PSL Karting driver line-up are Rotax Mini Max pilots David Rafailov and Luis Forteza. Hailing from Colorado, Rafailov has a SKUSA victory to his credit in 2012, and will look to top the blocks in the competitive Mini Max class along with teammate Forteza.

Unofficial practice this week will lead up to Friday’s official timed practice and the all-important qualifying sessions. Saturday will see Team PSL Karting on track for wheel-to-wheel action during the three-heat race flight format, which will set the grid for Sunday’s prefinal. The final on Sunday will see the Pan Am champions crowned, as well as the coveted RMCGF invitations awarded to the champions. Live video as well as timing and scoring will be available at www.kartracingnetwork.com beginning Saturday, September 22 at 11am Eastern Time.

Team PSL Karting will be trackside in 2012 at the Pan American Rotax Max Challenge and SKUSA SuperNationals.
