May 17, 2011 - After sitting out the first round of the 2011 GP3 Series, Canadian driver Daniel Morad is set to contest the remainder of the season with powerhouse operation, Carlin Motorsports. With support from Delavaco Capital Incorporated and DeFrancesco Racing, Morad will be behind the wheel at the next event this coming weekend at the Circuit de Cataluña in Spain.

"I am very happy to be back in the GP3 Series, and this would not have been possible if it wasn't for the help of my sponsors Delavaco Capital and DeFrancesco Racing. I wouldn't be headed to Spain without their support," expressed Morad. "I am excited to join Carlin Motorsports as they are one of the top teams in motorsports and have proved that in the previous seasons in all forms of open wheel racing."

Carlin Motorsports competes in several ladder series in the road to the Formula One World Championship. With drivers in the British Formula 3, GP3, World Series by Renault and GP2 programs, Carlin Motorsports has had some of today's most talented and successful drivers move through their operation

In 2010, Morad claimed a victory in his GP3 rookie season as he took the top spot at the Siliverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom. On the way to victory, Morad claimed the fastest race lap as the ladder series would compete along side the Formula One World Championship at the British Grand Prix.

Now, with support from Delavaco Capital, Morad has made the switch to the Carlin Motorsports squad and has great potential for the remaining seven events of the season.

The former race winner continued, "Delavaco Capital and Andy DeFrancesco has been nothing but supportive in my racing career. From the karting ranks to the open wheel ladder series, Andy and his companies have been behind me 100%. This is a great opportunity for me and a challenge as I will look to make up for lost points from the first event of the season."

While not behind the wheel of his GP3 car, Morad has been training hard and competing in international karting events. After a successful 2010 karting campaign, the Canadian driver competed at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in La Conca, Italy where he beat out over seventy competitors from around the world to become the Rotax DD2 World Champion.

Morad's first on track session of the 2011 GP3 Series will be this coming Friday as he and his Carlin Motorsports squad will have two free practice sessions to get up to speed. Qualifying and race one will take place on Saturday, May 21st while race two of the weekend will take place on Sunday, May 22nd.
