May 4, 2011 - With the opening round of the F2000 Championship Series now behind him, Venezuelan pilot Robert La Rocca and his Auto Errante-HP Tech Motorsports squad will now travel north for the second round of the series. Holding onto a solid third place position in the overall point standings, La Rocca will look to gain valuable championship points at the famed Road Atlanta in the rolling hills of Braselton, Georgia.
"I am really looking forward to getting back on track this weekend," expressed La Rocca. "We had a good start to the season at VIR, and I know we can stand atop the podium at Road Atlanta."
After claiming a pair of top five results at the Virginia International Raceway including an impressive second place drive in the rain, La Rocca and his team know that the first win is just around the corner. Having recently purchased some updates for their Ralph Firman Racing (RFR) car to compete in the pro series, La Rocca will welcome the help of Ralph Firman himself at the next event.
"It will be great to have the car designer at Road Atlanta. Who knows more about the car than the guy that put the package together? Having Mr. Firman, the RFR lead engineer and everyone from the Auto Errante-HP Tech Motorsports will provide me with the best possible chance at taking home multiple victories."
La Rocca will be on track the twelve-turn 2.54 mile circuit on Friday for the first event day. With two complete days of racing action, valuable championship points are at stake as the F2000 drivers begin to enter the heart of the season.
