With the debut event of its sophomore season hitting the track this weekend, the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship is proud to welcome ULV Custom Suits and Racing Gear as an Official Series Supplier. ULV products will be on display and available at each ECKC round in 2011, beginning this coming weekend at Goodwood Kartways. ULV also has an exciting Awards Program slated for the ECKC, one that will benefit the drivers directly and have some headed to next season with custom-tailored race suits!
“We are very honoured to partner with the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship,” said Jean-Pierre Bisilliat, Head of International Relations for ULV. “We are excited to be able to cross borders and offer our line of products to bigger markets with specific demands. We absolutely love the challenge, and will stand by our products 100 per cent.”
For those unfamiliar with the brand, ULV has long provided the most sought-after race gear in South America, and could be seen on Team PSL Karting drivers at the recent Florida Winter Tour and Gatorz Challenge of the Americas. Noted as much for their functional attributes as much as their incredible style, ULV custom suits also provide the utmost in driver protection and carry CIK-FIA Level 2 certification.
“We are proud of the gear we build and we do not take short cuts in our manufacturing process nor our quality control,” said Ubiratan Leme Valdez, known to the racing world as ‘Mano’ and the man who founded Brazilian ULV 1998. “Driver safety is our top priority, and if you own a ULV suit, you are blessed with the best.”
Just who will be awarded with a ULV custom suit is the first in a three-part Awards Package that the company brings to its partnership with the ECKC. Beginning with season-long awards, the Rookie-of-the-Year in Micro-Max, Mini-Max and Rotax Junior will each receive a custom designed, made-to-measure suit. Designed by the driver and embroidered specifically for the Award winners, the three standout rookies will head to the winter season dressed for success in 2012.
Additional awards will also be presented at the two Quebec rounds of the 2011 Championship.
At Race 3 in Trois-Rivieres, ULV will present ‘The Battle for Fastest Lap’ as the ECKC makes its first stop at Karting Trois-Rivieres. In the Final of every Rotax category, the driver setting the fastest lap of the race will be awarded with a pair racing gloves.
At Race 6, the season finale at the Jim Russell Karting Academy at Mont-Tremblant, ULV will present Pole Position Awards. Each Rotax Max driver earning a pole position will be awarded a pair of racing gloves prior to the race action of the day, allowing for the driver to lead the field wearing ULV Race Gear.
The 2011 Eastern Canadian Karting Championship alternates between Ontario and Quebec. After beginning at Goodwood Kartways May 7-8 with races one and two, Karting Trois-Rivieres hosts race three on May 29. Races four and five are slated for June 25-26 at Mosport International Karting - a race run in conjunction with the Pan American Rotax Max Challenge - and for the second straight season the finale will offer a preview of the Canadian National Championships as the Jim Russell Karting Academy at Mont-Tremblant hosts drivers on Sunday, July 17.
