Phil Giebler Racing Enters 10 for SKUSA Pro Tour Opener

Phil Giebler Racing has entered 10 drivers
in five classes in the Honda Racing/HPD SpringNationals, the opening event
of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday
(April 29-May 1) at the Musselman Honda Circuit.

Giebler, of Huntington Beach, Calif., won the SKUSA Pro Tour TaG Senior
championship in 2010. The 2007 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year returns in
TaG Senior. He’ll have four teammates in TaG Senior in Emily Maddison, of
Alberta, Canada, Andrew Wiener, of Chula Vista, Calif., Shawn Cricca, of Simi
Valley, Calif., and Jess Peterson, of Sparks, Nev.

Mason Daughters, of Polo, Mo., is entered in TaG Junior, Noah Grey, of Dana
Point, Calif., in TaG Cadet, Steve Wiener, of Chula Vista, Calif., and
Brian McHattie, of Yorktown, Ohio, are in TaG Master and Vatche Tatikian, of
North Hollywood, Calif., is in S4.

Practice is Friday with qualifying and full race schedules--qualifying,
heats and main--on Saturday and Sunday on the .7986-mile, 13-turn circuit.

The SpringNationals field will be one of the toughest and deepest of the
season. There are 36 entries in TaG Senior and S4, 19 in TaG Junior and TaG
Cadet and 17 in TaG Master.

“This will be one of the most competitive events in karting in the United
States this year,” Giebler said. “It’s a double-header with a lot of points
at stake and we’ll have to be sharp from the start of practice to the main
event. We expect to do well.

“We had five drivers with top five finishes in the SKUSA ProKart South
event at Buttonwillow (Calif.) in our most recent event and we’ll be racing
against many of those drivers. But this is a national event and the competition
will be tougher. We should be up to the challenge. We’re getting better with
every event.”

At Buttonwillow, Daughters was third in TaG Junior, Peterson, in TaG
Senior, and Noah Grey, in TaG Cadet, posted fourth-place finishes, Maddison
finished fifth in TaG Senior. and Tatikian was fifth in S3 shifter karts.

Phil Giebler Racing, based in Orange, Calif., uses FA Karts powered by
125cc water-cooled Vortex Racing engines in TaG Senior, TaG Junior, TaG Master and S4. Grey also has a FA Kart and is powered by a 60cc Vortex MiniRok
engine. The entire PGR team races on MG Tires.
