As one series ended and another one started, Supertune USA would look to continue with their string of strong performances. Traveling south to the Homestead Karting Complex on the grounds of the Homestead Miami Speedway, Supertune USA would provide power to multiple drivers for the opening round of the eastern Rotax Pan American Challenge. With the first of two qualifying rounds taking place in south Florida, Supertune USA and their fleet of drivers would be in the hunt for race wins and podiums.
With drivers scattered throughout the Junior, Senior and Rotax Mini Max ranks, it was Floridian Alex Guenette that scored the most impressive results. With the pole position on Saturday, which included a new track record, Guenette would go on to claim a solid second place result in a stout field of juniors. However, redemption would come on Sunday for the Supertune USA powered drive as Guenette drove to the race win.
Also competing in the junior division was Florida Winter Tour Rotax Junior champion Dore Chaponick and rookie competitors Sebastian Coulson. Chaponick would consistently run in the top five and would take home a fourth place result on Saturday as Coulson chased him across the line for fifth. Sunday would see Coulson have his best career finish as a junior as he claimed an impressive fourth place result.
"The competition in the Rotax classes this year throughout the United States is very impressive," explained Supertune USA's Ben Cruttenden. "You have to really be on top of your game to run at the front of the field and to have so many of our customers up there is a true testament to our program."
While the Supertune USA drivers in the Rotax Mini Max class ran into trouble on Saturday, they were back with a vengeance on Sunday taking two places in the top five. Patricio O'Ward would cross the stripe in the fourth position while up and comer Devlin DeFrancesco improved on Saturday's result to come home fifth.
A pair of pilots would utilize Supertune USA power in the Rotax Senior class as Alessandra Madrigal would be on point on Sunday. After claiming the pole position in the morning qualifying session, Madrigal went on to claim a fourth place finish as well as claim the fastest lap of the event. Fellow Supertune USA powered driver Tristan DeGrand would chase Madrigal across the line to finish fifth.
