Austin Elliott Dominates Tag Sr in his Rookie Debut at Prokart Challenge North Opener
Shingle Springs, Ca- Austin Elliott is off to a great start for his 2011 season in his Tag Sr debut with a screaming fast time, 2 Heat wins and a Main Event Victory at The Pro Kart Challenge North Opener held at the "G-Force Track" Kinsmen Kart Club. 15 year old Elliott, Kartel Motorsports and Top Kart driver, was Fresh from the Jr 2 Level and came out with Bang against 15 other drivers, some of which hold very impressive resume's.
Austin has been training extensively in the off season to prepare for his big SR debut. Friday Practice started off to a wet start. The rain storm had left Kinsmen Kart Club with a lake to start pumping away. As soon as the track was dry enough Austin Started his testing to get his Top Kart Machine perfectly tuned for Saturday’s race. He had preformed enough testing and tuning to perfect his Top Kart Chassis. Austin had out tuned and beaten his new competitor’s times. Once Elliott was satisfied with his tuning capabilities he knew his 78 machine was ready for race day.
Saturday morning rolled around and Austin was in full race mode ready to debut his first race as a SR driver. The morning practice was a success until second practice he had a minor transponder issue but the entire pits knew he was posting fast times and that he was the driver to beat. Austin grabbed the Pole Position by .054 seconds. Elliott knew he had to make sure his Parilla was perfectly tuned for the start of the heat race to get the jump on the Rotax starting beside him on the front row. Elliott won his the first heat and repeated his results in the second heat Elliott winning with a 2.379 second lead. In the final, Austin had the full advantage of the start and walked away from the field and came across the finish line with a 2.820 second victory.
“I think my first SR Win was a great experience, I learned from the race and just had a great time racing. I look forward to my next SR races and competitors. I Keep Pushing for the Win, No Matter What!” Says Austin. Austin’s goals for 2011 are to win most of the races and learn as much as he can about the Sport of Racing.
