January 9, 2011 – As a new year has dawned on the karting scene, Supertune USA has been hard at work solidifying a driver lineup that is second to none at this year’s edition of the Florida Winter Tour. Looking to score race wins, championships and qualifying spots to the Rotax World Finals, Supertune USA will begin their assault on the karting world in two weeks at the Orlando Kart Center in Orlando, Florida.
“2010 was an amazing season for us at Supertune USA,” expressed engine builder Ben Cruttenden. “We claimed a lot of victories across the United States and Canada as well as helped several drivers reach their goal of traveling overseas to compete at the World Finals. We have worked hard in the off season and are looking to better last season’s results. I am excited to get the year started.”
A quartet of Rotax Senior drivers will utilize Supertune power and leading the way will be 2010 Rotax Junior national champion Andrew Palmer. Palmer will be joined by Nicola Morales and a pair of female pilots in Kara Gunette and Philippian standout Alessandra Madrigal. Both female pilots will join Palmer as rookie competitors in Rotax Senior.
Joining the Supertune USA driver lineup in what could be the biggest shakeup at this year’s Florida Winter Tour is recently crowned Rotax DD2 World Champion Daniel Morad. The victor in Italy will make the switch to Supertune USA power and will be joined by senior level and DD2 rookie Nicholas Latifi as they look to make their charge towards DD2 glory. Latifi will look to challenge for the title after gaining experience at last year’s World Finals in Italy.
Not only is the talent deep in the senior categories for Supertune USA, but a stout junior lineup will finish the puzzle as five drivers will utilize Supertune power. Leading the way will be WSK front runner and recent podium finisher Tristan DeGrand as well as 2010 Rotax World finals competitor Dore Chaponick. This pair of competitors will be joined by Alex Guenette, Gustavo Lima and Sebastian Coulson for the entire Florida Winter Tour program.
Supertune USA drivers in the Rotax Mini Max class look to be the early season favorites for the title. All three competitors are returnees to the program as Patricio O’Ward, Devlin DeFrancesco and Cole Glassen will look to stand atop the podium. Not to be outdone, the Micro Max division will feature two Supertune USA powered drivers in Lachlan DeFrancesco and Rasmus Lindh. Both drivers will look to turn heads in the youngest class on the tour and begin their march towards motorsports stardom.
