Start the New Year Right with Kart Racing at PGP

1/1/2011

There are two types of New Year’s resolutions, the ones you tell your family and friends — lose five pounds, call mom more often, drink less coffee, cut back on texting — and the kind that you really want to do, like RACE MORE OFTEN AT PGP MOTORSPORTS PARK!

You can get your New Year started the right way — the way you want — this weekend at the region’s top motorsports facility with Buy 2 Get 1 Free Rental Kart racing from today (Thurs., Dec. 30) through New Year’s Day followed by Round 3 of the Stars of PGP Kart Fall & Winter Series on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011.

Old Man Winter won’t be a problem with sunshine and highs in the 40s in the forecast after cooler mornings. And there’s nothing better to blast the New Year’s Eve cobwebs out of your noggin than some crisp Pacific Northwest air hitting you while speeding inches above PGP’s state-of-the-art asphalt track.

Buy 2 Get 1 Free Rental Kart Sessions

Valid from Dec. 30, 2010 to Jan. 1, 2011 for either 1 driver in our 9.5 hp, 42 mph Birel rental karts or when 2 driver buy sessions the 3rd driver is FREE (and how cool is that?). PGP hours: Thurs. Dec. 30, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 31, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Rental Kart sessions — like all racing at PGP — are rain or shine and are open to the public (minimum age 15) with no prior racing experience or competition license required. You show up ready to experience the thrill of racing and PGP provides the rest — the kart, fuel, tires, helmet and a venue that was named a Best Destination in the King 5 Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington contest.

Round 3 of Stars of PGP Kart Fall & Winter Series

PGP’s standard race weekend format — with practice, qualifying, a heat race and final — and streamlined class structure means maximum time on track where the heat of competition and hot air from bench racing in the paddock will keep even the biggest weather wimps toasty warm.

Feel the need for speed but don’t have the money for your own kart? Stars of PGP Kart Series events also include a Rental Kart (Birel Spec) Class for arrive-and-drive races. With 36 karts available and PGP’s staff to help with setup, the Rental kart racing is the most inexpensive way to experience the thrill of competition on PGP’s purpose-built track.

There are just two rounds left in the Fall & Winter Series after Sunday’s Round 3 — Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 and the finale on March 6, 2011 — so don’t miss this chance to race against the top kart pilots in the Pacific Northwest.

There will be a live broadcast with commentary of Sunday’s event provided by eventbuilder.com and accessible through a link on the PGP website at www.PacificGP.com. The event will also be available for “on demand” viewing after Sunday by following the same link.
