Don Moormeister Named US Rotax Max Challenge Technical Director
THREE OAKS, MI (December 28, 2010) – The MAXSpeed Group, United States Distributor for Rotax Kart Products, has appointed Don Moormeister as the US Rotax Max Challenge Technical Director.
Don has been karting since 1965 as a shop owner, engine builder, chassis builder, factory supported driver and independent racer. He has been involved in R&D programs for both karting & motorcycle carburetion and tuned exhaust systems over the years. In 1989, Don started to do local & regional tech inspections at IKF events. He has served as both Technical Director & Race Director at IKF Grand National events, mainly in Technical related field for IKF, Stars of Tomorrow, SKUSA,(6 SuperNats) FWT, SWRC , the Black Rock GP, KartSport GP, HPV Invitational and others.
“Don’s experience, knowledge and demeanor were all reasons why he has been appointed to this position moving forward,” said Garry Lobaugh, US RMC Director. “He has treated competitors with respect while not bending on important facets of the RMC rulebook, which is what Rotax competition needs.”
Don’s Rotax experience includes five of the last six US Grand Nationals, 2008 Grand Finals, Gatorz Karting Cup series, Eastern Canadian Championship series and every major USRMC event over the last three years. He has been the active US Rotax Max Challenge National Technical Director for the past two years.
