“OGP helps karters reduce travel costs”
Article By: Race Tech Development
December 13, 2010 – In an effort to help the average karter and support North America’s largest and most challenging race program, Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) will offer Florida Winter Tour (FWT) competitors trailer storage at their central Florida facility. For a low monthly cost, teams and competitors on any brand are invited to park their haulers at OGP to help reduce travel times and costs between series events.
Ocala Gran Prix is offering this to competitors that are competing at the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup program in Daytona over the holidays that do not wish to driver their trailer back home. Also, teams and competitors looking for storage between the Florida Winter Tour rounds in Orlando, West Palm Beach and Ocala as well as the Florida Karting Championship Series events in Homestead and Andersen can do so for a cost of only $60.00 per month.
“The winter months are a busy time for the North American karter,” explained OGP President Jorge Arellano. “There is a lot of racing going on in the warmer climate states and we are looking to make it easier for our teams and drivers.”
“The travel costs between events are what the highest cost in this sport is,” expressed OGP Track Manager Charlie Kramer. “By offering the storage of equipment for a small fee at our centrally located facility, it’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
