Formula Kart Productions recently announced the official classes for the 2011 FWT Formula Kart Championship event weekends. That announcement included the “Spec” KF2 and KF3 classes for the Formula Kart event weekends. Here are the details of that program.
This program was put together by OTK USA, the official importer and distributor for Tony Kart, Kosmic and Alonso Kart chassis’ and Vortex racing engines. OTK USA will provide and oversee the service of the Vortex KF motors used in the program. Formula Kart Productions will oversee the lottery distribution and technical inspection of the engines at each Formula Kart event weekend.
Engines will be 2010 homologation Vortex KF engines. Engine package includes engine, ignition, carb, pipe, clutch, battery, battery support, wiring harness, key. Engines will be sealed.
Competitor provides chassis, engine mount, radiator assembly, air box, air box bracket.
Engines will lease for $250 per day if the competitor buys all 3 event weekends. Engines will lease for $350 per day if competitor buys only one event weekend. If the competitor initially buys only one event weekend, but subsequently buys all three, OTK USA will reimburse the lease difference.
Each competitor allowed maximum two engines per event weekend.
Vortex factory technician(s) on site at all events for customer support.
Engines are "refreshed" by Vortex technician after each event weekend.
Customer is responsible for damage other than factory defect.
Formula Kart Productions will distribute the engine packages on Thursday morning by lottery drawing. Lottery engines may be used Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.
Formula Kart Productions will monitor rpm and clutch stall.
OTK USA will award each class champion the lease of one engine package and OTK USA tent space at the 2011 Canadian WSK event at the World Class Karting Mont Tremblant facility outside Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
