Tyler Allen to run the Miller 200 at South Sound

8/24/2010

Tyler Allen is spending this week preparing his PGP Motorsports Park, R&C Roofing Limited Late Model Chevy for the South Sound Speedway Miller 200. This race will give Allen the chance to test his skills against some of the best drivers in the Northwest.

Allen tested his reconfigured Chevy Monte Carlo last week and found some impressive times as the car was set up to run in the upper class. " I'm looking forward to running with the Super Late Model guys... I'm just going to really focus on keeping my momentum through the corners and making sure the car is there at the end of the 200 laps."

Allen continues to gain experience in different types of race cars. Just last week he completed the 3rd competitive kart endurance race at Pacific Grand Prix Motorsports Park in Kent, WA finishing just off the podium. PGP continues as a sponsor for Allen preparing him for Richard Petty's Driver Search II, slated for September 13-16.

"Seat time is so important in this sport and I really enjoy driving the karts and competing against these drivers. I've learned so much in the past few weeks from the guys at PGP and this will most definitely give me an advantage as I prepare for Richard Petty's Driver Search II. PGP has outstanding weekly arrive and drive rental kart events for everyone, it's a really unique program!"

Allen has been given the opportunity to test a USAC midget car this week. This will also be one of the car models he will drive while he is at the Driver Search competition. Allen will test the car at South Sound Speedway on Thursday and add another car type to his driving experience.

Come join the Allen Racing team at South Sound Speedway this Saturday as we wish Allen good luck on his trip to Charlotte, North Carolina. There will be a free give away and a chance to win a Richard Petty Inaugural Hall of Fame Induction poster.
