KENT, Wash. — (July 25, 2010) You may have what it takes to put down a fast lap in one of PGP Motorsports Park’s Birel rental karts, but can you do it lap after lap after lap?
Those that want to find out should grab a couple friends, or come on their own, and head to the Northwest’s premier multi-purpose motorsports facility for the inaugural PGP Enduro on Wednesday, July 28.
But you’d better do it quickly, because the field for this special 90-minute event is limited to the first 20 teams registering using the form below. Teams can consist of one, two or three drivers at a minimum age of 15, with single-person teams getting a special IronMan/Woman registration rate.
The PGP Enduro will consist of a practice session followed by three 30-minute races on the full .82-mile track. Competitors will race the first segment counter-clockwise, the second clockwise and the finale counter-clockwise. Kart assignments will be made based on a random draw, with new karts assigned after each segment. The field will be inverted based on a random draw.
The team that completes the most laps over the 90-minutes will hoist the winner’s trophy at the top of the PGP podium, with second and third-place teams also getting trophies.
There will be a mandatory drivers meeting at 6:15 p.m., with racing starting promptly at 6:30 p.m. Cost per person is based on number of drivers on the team:
Ø Three-person team driver: $50 member, $60 non-member
Ø Two-person team driver: $75 member, $85 non-member
Ø One-person IronMan/Woman: $125 member, $135 non-member
Rental kart events are rain or shine and are open to the public with no prior racing experience or competition license required. You show up ready to experience the thrill of racing and PGP provides the rest — the kart, fuel, tires, helmet and a venue that was recently named a Best Destination in the King 5 Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington contest.
