KENT, Wash. — (June 24, 2010) Built and operated by racers, PGP Motorsports Park continues to explore new ways to improve the level of service and support provided to kart pilots throughout the region.
Therefore the premier multi-purpose motorsports facility in the Pacific Northwest is pleased to announce it has been selected as an official dealer and service center for Birel Karts and Rotax engines. PGP will partner with MRP Motorsport, the North American importer and distributer of Birel racing karts and the U.S. distributor of Rotax engines and accessories.
“We are ecstatic to make this announcement and to be working with PGP and their management team,” said Marc Miller, MRP’s Director of Brand Development. “I have visited the track myself and can honestly say there are very few facilities of this quality and potential. We look forward to the growth of the karting market in the Seattle area thanks to the efforts of PGP Motorsports Park.”
Recently named “Best Guys Weekend Destination” in the KING 5 Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington contest, PGP is conveniently located and offers racing rain or shine. With up to 14 turns based on the configuration and many subtle elevation changes, the .82-mile track at PGP Motorsports Park is perfect for all categories of racing including rental and competition karting, Supermoto, drifting, car lapping, arrive-and-drive rentals, corporate events, group parties, practice days, and more.
“I am very excited to represent the Birel and Rotax line of products,” said PGP owner Paul Zalud. “MRP Motorsports is very particular about who is included as a dealer, so we consider it an honor. I don't think there is anyone more accomplished in providing their dealers with solid sales tools, or insightful communications critical to timely placement of orders in the karting market.”
In operation since June 2009, PGP has hosted numerous corporate and charity events in addition to near-daily rentals and frequent competitive karting events including the exclusive Stars of PGP and Rental Kart Racing series. Last weekend PGP hosted the I-5 Corridor Series — put on by PGP and Pat’s Acres Racing Complex from Canby, Ore. — for Round 2 of its four-event 2010 schedule.
PGP is now looking to add competitors to the newly formed PGP race team — which will of course represent the Birel line — joining locals Sean Naslund and Brian Pounder who are the inaugural team members.
“While we will be showcasing karting to a large and diverse group of people through our corporate entertainment program, PGP will also have replacement products on hand for our full line at all times,” Zalud said. “Our knowledge of the product lines combined with a streamlined supply of the best components benefits all of PGP’s customers.”
