Series IKF Region 11

After a successful start to the 2010 season for the IKF Region 11 Super Series the racers are preparing for round three as they head to the fast bullring at Stockton. The racing in Region 11 thus far has been fierce as drivers have been battling throughout races, and many times to the checkered flag. Stockton is infamous for its side by side racing in years past, with the impressive results from the highly talented Norcal Racers in the first two rounds, Stockton has become the highest anticipated race of 2010. Located in the downtown Industrial area of Stockton, Ca. off of Airport way, the bullring at Stockton is one of the fastest tracks in Norcal while also being one of the smallest. The on track action happens fast at Stockton and the G-force will be on high with the amazing grip the track holds. Turn one and two are flat high speed turns, as the racers exit turn two they drive through a long left curved straight into the high banked turn three. The combinations of the first three turns allows the driver to run side by side, as they exit three racers must run single file through the flat-out high speed back straight esses leading to a dog legged short shoot into the west turn. The driver’s setup for the front shoot through the bus stop chicane where the bump and run is a popular tool put to use with the drivers as they race to the finish line. Fast times in the Stock Moto category may get into the 29 second bracket for the fastest lap on the weekend. What makes this event special for the racers is the setup on the weekend. All racing takes place on Sunday, allowing teams to not miss school or work. Extra long practice Saturday will be available as Stockton has lights. Saturday night the Dirt Oval track will run Mini Sprint Cars providing extra entertainment for the Karters. Lastly, because it’s Stockton and its location, the facility lends itself to many racers from Southern Ca. while the struggling economy takes its toll on low kart counts for the Region 7 IKF events, racers can get their race punches to qualify for the IKF Grand Nationals at Willow Springs. A short drive from the track to the host hotel Ramada Plaza is offering a special room rate for the karters. Standard rooms will run as low as $55 a night. Teams can simply go to www.HeritageHotelGroup.com , Follow the links to the Stockton Location, and they can book online with using the Promotional code of “SM51”.
