CKI/WSK North America Series Invite all to Florida

With most of the country in a deep freeze and more snow and ice just around the corner, the staff from Championship Karting International (CKI) and the WSK North American Series would like to extend an invitation to all karters to come race in the Sunshine State. With multiple races at several of Florida’s premiere tracks, racing will be plentiful and the on track action will be intense.

Two complete series will run through the January to March winter months in the Florida Winter Tour (FWT) and the CKI Florida Cup. Both series will be offering all Rotax divisions and huge prize packages to entice competitors from across the globe. The Florida Winter Tour will start their season off at the new Orlando Karting Center before moving to Palm Beach International Raceway and then the recently re-done Ocala Gran Prix. The CKI Florida Cup will enjoy three series events at the Homestead Karting Complex just south of Miami, Florida. With a track that can be configured in a variety of different ways, drivers and tuners will be challenged in every scenario.

“Florida is a great place to be when the snow is falling across North America,” stated CKI Director of Operations Kevin Williams. “Mix in some great racing action from several different series and Florida is the place to be. This is a great time to be in the sun; it’s great for karting and will benefit everyone in the industry.”

Also taking place during the winter months is next week’s opening round for the 2010 World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer’s Cup. Taking place December 28th-30th in the infield of the famed Daytona International Speedway, more than 400 entries in fifteen classes will do battle for race wins as they look to start the season off right during Daytona Kartweek.

The six race Florida Karting Championship Series (FKCS) also begins in the winter months with their first event taking place in late February at Andersen Race Park in Palmetto, Florida. The WKA regional series is well attended and a great way for Florida drivers to get their divisional transfer in the chase for championships in the Manufacturer’s Cup. The FKCS will continue their program in April at Homestead Karting Complex and then onwards in 2010.

Williams added, “This is an open invitation to all teams and karters to come and enjoy some great racing. Bring the family, stay a few days and make a vacation out of it or just come and get prepared for the summer months of action.”
