Mandalay Bay-Site for 2010 CKI Grand Championship

Fresh off its successful full season of competition, Championship Karting International announced during the PRI Trade Show this weekend they have secured the trendy Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas as the site of its 2010 WSK North American Series Grand Championship Event, slated for October 22-24, 2010.

Capping off its aggressive WSK North American Series in 2010, CKI will bring all the exciting Championship battles to a purpose-built temporary circuit, located in the South Convention Center Parking Lot of Mandalay Bay, situated along the famed Las Vegas Strip. This much anticipated announcement completes the WSK North American Series for 2010, which begins April 9-11 at New Castle Motorsports Park.

At the completion of the Grand Championship Event, adding another exciting element to the weekend’s activities, CKI will also be celebrating the 2010 Season Champions with a Sunday evening pool-side gala that will honor Drivers and Teams’ accomplishments in 2010.

As a part of the partnership with CKI, Mandalay Bay has already secured hotel rooms for the WSK North American Series Competitors, which includes an early-bird discount. Hotel rooms can be reserved from the event page at ChampionshipKartRacing.com

“This is truly another stellar event for karting, and a great addition to a schedule that offers some of the best facilities in the country.” States Kevin Williams, CKI Director, “The cooperation of the folks at Mandalay Bay has been first rate, and we are excited to offer a kart track at one of the most premier properties on the Las Vegas Strip. I am confident this one-of-a-kind location will be a thrilling venue for our customers to cap off the 2010 competition season. It’s going to be a great year for our sport.”

Although CKI is well into the planning for the 2010 WSK North American Series, first up in the year is the popular Florida Cup at Homestead Miami Speedway, which starts in January. Entry forms, prize package and other details are already confirmed and posted on CKI’s website.
