Product News: Briggs & Stratton Launches Junior 206 Engine
The Briggs & Stratton Junior 206 engine
Building from the success of the Briggs & Stratton LO206 crate engine, the Junior 206 was developed with the same goals in mind: to lower the costs of racing with an out-of-the-box solution that levels the playing field, simplifies tech, with an engine that ‘grows’ with you. Every Junior 206 engine is hand-built with a ground cam and factory controlled piston pop-up (limiting compression variance) before being sealed in-house.
Power is controlled through the use of a longer carburetor slide and a specialized locking carburetor cap. A special PVL ignition module with a digitally set 4,100 rpm rev limiter rounds out the package.
“Power is equivalent to the 50cc Comer engine,” stated Dave Klaus, Director - Briggs & Stratton Racing. ‘Racers now have choices. Why spend thousands to compete in a class where the playing field is tilted and wrenching is the norm? For under $500 you can pull the Junior 206 out of the box and go. Each engine comes complete with a Green Air filter, onboard rewind, fuel pump, and Max-torque clutch. Complete tech is a quick check of the bottom-end seals, 7 tech tools on the top-end, and a simple check of the slide with a no-go/pin gauge and you are done. Even better, for under $100, just change out the ignition module, install a standard Walbro carburetor slide and you have an engine comparable to the 80cc Comer. That gives you two engines for less than the price of one, and ZERO maintenance. Roll it out of your trailer, grab your fold-out chair, and wait for your class to be called!”
