PGP Winter Racing Series Round 1 is just around the corner!!
Multi-class competition series to include shifter, Rotax and TaG class action.
Pacific Grand Prix is building momentum that will carry over into 2010 with a new Winter program for the Northwest Karter. The 2009/2010 Winter Series at Pacific Grand Prix brings a multi-class competition series to the Northwest’s newest top-level karting circuit.
The Northwest was one of the original areas of strong support during the early days of SKUSA when Paul Zalud started promoting these alternative events here. The region has since had a longstanding love and nostalgia for shifter kart racing and this series will return PGP’s principal to his roots. Not only will the series support the shifter program, there will also be support for the very popular Rotax and TaG classes.
The Winter Series will be made up of 5 single-day weekend events:
November 1st, 2009
December 6th, 2009
January 10th, 2010
February 14th, 2010
March 7th, 2010
The series will support four Shifter classes and will operate utilizing the SKUSA rules and regulations. Five Rotax classes will be offered and three positions for TaG are allowed. Some of the classes will be combined and run at the same time so that the total sessions on track are limited, maximizing seat time for all our competitors.
Classes that will be supported and some general regulations for each are as follows:
Amateur Stock Moto
Junior Stock Moto
Masters Stock Moto
30 and over, Built Moto or ICC
Rotax Micro, Mini, Junior, Senior and Master
TaG Cadet, Junior and Senior
VP fuel will be the mandatory fuel and will be available on site. Oil at this time is open.
Tires until the end of the year will be either Bridgestone or Maxxis HG3.
Rain tires will be open.
More details of the regulations can be found at www.pacificgp.com.
The region’s members are urged to jump on-board in a big way, as many have a rich history in SKUSA lore. Washington has brought home its share of gold from the organization’s racing in the past, including multiple SuperNationals and ProMoto Tour wins. There are a lot of folks out there that have been waiting for a world-class facility to open here and the time has finally come. Time to dust off that kart that has been in the corner of the garage and come on out and get back to the fun, excitement and camaraderie of days past.
More information on the new 2010 series and strategic alliances will be announced shortly.
