The following is an official notice sent out by Bill Hilger, President of the International Kart Federation.
Notice is hereby given that International Kart Federation (IKF) is seeking Proposals for tires for IKF Regional and National Sprint Classes. The IKF has elected to implement tire spec regulations in an effort to curb kart racing expenses, to foster a competitive balance in the sport, and to put greater emphasis on the driving skills of the participants.
Proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m, September 15, 2009, in the IKF Office. All proposals received will be documented, date and time stamped when received. Proposals received or tendered after that time and date will not be accepted. Actual receipt is required by said date and time; deposit in the mail is insufficient.
All proposals shall be addressed to the International Kart Federation marked in a manner specified in the instructions. Said instructions and specifications are on file and may be obtained from the IKF or downloaded from the International Kart Federation website at www.ikfkarting.com
The Board welcomes and will review all comments relative to the proposal process and the tire spec rule.
The IKF reserves the right to accept or reject in whole or in part any or all proposals, waive any informality, cancel this solicitation and to award a contract deemed in the best interests of IKF and its members.
Award of the contract to the successful vendor shall be based upon the proposal determined most advantageous to the IKF and its members. Proposals must remain firm once submitted and may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty days, subject to provisions for correction of errors in the proposal.
