Fort Lauderdale - October 8 2013 - Looking to fill a void in the motorsports market, long-time karting coach and British karting champion Nick Mitchell has formed Octane Sports Development, a professional coaching company within the motorsports industry. Designed to assist karters with a variety of different programs, Octane Sports Development has created strategic alliances within the motorsports industry to ensure success in all areas.
"I am looking to help karters make the transition from karts to cars," explained Nick Mitchell. "There has been several other people that have tried to do this in the past but they have gone at it alone. I have been able to form alliances and partnerships with bigger companies to assist in the areas of marketing, sponsorship seeking as well as work in my own areas of coaching, fitness, nutrition and more."
Mitchell and Octane Sports Development have already formed partnerships with XYZ Live and X-Team Racing to further develop and improve driver's chances of making it to the upper echelon in the world of motorsports.
Mitchell continued, "XYZ Live's Motorsport division is a fully integrated management and marketing company that works, past and present, with several high profile drivers at the highest levels of the motorsports arena. XYZ has worked with former F1 driver Rubens Barrichello, 2013 Indianapolis 500 champion Tony Kanaan and former F1 and present NASCAR winner Nelson Piquet Jr. XYZ continues to represent drivers at the pinnacle of the motorsport world in addition to the various levels of the development classes in both stock and formula cars. Whether it be on North American tracks or those in Europe, XYZ handles drivers from late model and NASCAR K&N to World Series by Renault and both GP3 and GP2 Teams."
X-Team Racing, formed in 2011 based in Miami and Charlotte has operations from the entry level forms of Stock Car and Formula Car racing to the rapidly growing Global Rally Cross highlighted in 2012 and 2013 X Games featured on ESPN.
Mitchell has been handling the coaching and development of DFR Racing pilots Devlin and Lachlan DeFrancesco in both North America and Europe over the last number of years, but with Octane, he will look to add more competitors to his stable to master their racecraft with a longer term plan and a variety of options.
"I want to continue to help the young drivers presently in karting make the move up the motorsports ladder," explained Mitchell. "I have been with Devlin for quite some time and he is on the threshold of making a big step in his career. Lachlan, while still young, will be working with me in karting and like older brother Devlin, onwards into cars."
