Dionisos put in two spectacular recovers under the rain in qualifying heats climbing all the way up to the 4th and 3rd place. Bad weather forced organizers to move most of the programme to Sunday morning. Tillett and Romano to play all their cards tomorrow.
The rain of this Fall opening and the deluge over Sarno shuffled a bit the programme of the CIK-FIA KFJ World Championship under way at the International Circuit Napoli forcing organizers to move six heats of the category where CRG is fielding three drivers – Marcu Dionisios, Archie Tillett and Bruno Romano – to Sunday morning. The three color bearers of CRG still have to run two qualifying heats each before getting to the Prefinal and Final.
SPECTACULAR RECOVERS FROM DIONISIOS
The abundant rain on track resulted in some races postponed but on the wet track the Romanian driver Marcu Dionisios (CRG-Bmb) found himself at ease and put in two spectacular recovers. Started from the 22nd place of the grid due to a problem in qualifying, Dionisios hauled two good results with a brilliant fourth place in the first heat and a third in the second one. This is a good overall result that makes him hopeful ahead of the final stages of his qualifying and of Prefinal and Final on Sunday.
TILLETT AND ROMANO TO PLAY IT ALL ON SUNDAY
A bit more to the back the British driver Archie Tillett (CRG-Tm) instead as he was quite unlucky in the first heat when he had a contact while in third place as well as in the second heat. The net result was a 21st and 23rd place at the flags.
The young Argentinian driver Bruno Romano (CRG-Bmb) is still trying to find his pace on the completely new to him circuit of Sarno, a task that is made more difficult by weather conditions. In the two heats run Romano obtained a 20th and 22nd place, but he will certainly try to counter-charge on Sunday hoping in a better weather.
The racing programme of Sunday October 6th has been revised and the morning will keep the track busy with qualifying heats that could not take place on Saturday. The start is set for 9,00 (GMT+2). Prefinals will follow from 11.50 while the Final will start at 15.05; the live streaming of the race will be available at www.cikfia.com and www.cikfiachampionship.com. The Finals will be shown recorded on RAI Sport 2 next Tuesday October 8th.
