SEASON FINALE ON TAP FOR TEXAS PROKART CHALLENGE

9/30/2013

Final two rounds set for NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans on October 4-6

KATY, TX (September 30, 2012) – The exciting 2013 season for the Texas ProKart Challenge season - presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King®/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys/Dallas Karting Complex - is set to close the curtain following the three-day event schedule for the NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans. The October 4-6 weekend will host rounds nine and ten of the championship series, as the titles in the US Rotax Max Challenge and Superkarts! USA regional classes will be decided.

The weekend will also serve as a warm-up event for many of the competitors set to race in the Rotax Pan-American Challenge the following week, which will award the final four tickets to the Rotax Grand Finals - scheduled for November at the NOLA facility. For the Superkarts! USA racers, it is the final chance to prepare for the upcoming SKUSA SuperNationals XVII in November. Thanks to the growing numbers in the series throughout the year and the added drivers in all seven of the Rotax divisions, the 2013 Texas ProKart Challenge is scheduled to be the largest event of the season.

Added to the weekend schedule will be a 1 Hour LeMans race with the NOLA rental karts. Following practice Friday, teams of drivers will compete in the one hour race, with $500 cash prize for the winning team should 12 teams register. A number of prizes will be offered throughout the weekend, with top end kits from HPD for the fastest qualifiers on Saturday in S2 and S5 Junior. Three sets of tires, three free race entries to the first Texas PKC event in 2014, and many Motul products for podium finishers on the weekend. Year-end awards include paid entries for the class champions to the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVII and the United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals.

Championship battles will come to an end in New Orleans, with all categories wrapping up the 10 round season at NOLA. The Pole Position/DR Kart S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto division has three drivers fighting to the bitter end of the season. Ryan Kinnear leads Garrett Boone and Miguel Lopez, and when factoring the drop, are all separated by just 45 points. With up to 320 maximum points available each day, there is no telling who will leave NOLA with the title. The SwedeTech S4 Master Stock Moto category has seen two drivers dominate throughout the year. Jordon Musser has accumulated the most points on the season, but flipping over to points including a drop, Chris Jennings holds the advantage by six points. A perfect day or a perfect weekend could be the deciding factor. Nathan Adds holds the top spot in the J&T Racing S5 Junior Stock Moto class, holding a 90 point advantage over Jesse Woodyard with Raul Guzman third.

It’s down to just two drivers for the title in TaG Cadet after what has been an exciting season with numerous drivers at the front of the field. Max Hewitt holds the point lead going into NOLA, leading Luis Pena by just 32 points. Each and every session for the two will be crucial if they hope to leave the weekend as champion. Wyatt Maness has amassed the most points in TaG Senior, but Michael Bartholomew holds the advantage when factoring in the drops. Maness’ lead of 72 turns into a 60 point deficit with a drop race as they head into the weekend. Jesus Robles is the top driver in TaG Master while Rodrigo Rejon leads the standings in Champion Racing/Intrepid TaG Junior.

The Enertech/Chase Racing Mini Max title chase is a three driver fight. Luis Pena leads the standings with Parker Chase and Max Hewitt in the mix. All three enter the weekend separated by 99 points, even less when factoring in the drop. Chase is on a roll currently, winning the last two feature races at Oklahoma, and earning the Texas PKC ticket to the Micro & Mini Invitational during the Rotax Grand Finals event in November at NOLA. Max Waithman has a solid lead in the Micro Max standings. Waithman was slotted to earn the other Invitational ticket, but already scored one with his performance at the US Rotax Grand Nationals in August. Ethan Arndt, currently second in the class standings, was awarded that ticket.

Four wins on the year has Jesse Woodyard leading the championship chase in the Champion Racing/Intrepid Rotax Junior class. Nathan Adds trails in the standings, still with a shot at top spot but will need some help. Alex Tartaglia has led for the majority of the season in the DD2, and enters the finale weekend with a 185 point lead over Nathan Mauel. CJ Cramm remains in the chase, but needs to make up some ground in the final two rounds. Rotax Senior also has Tartaglia at the top of the standings with Conner Clay and Ronnie Price giving chase. Steven Clark secured the Rotax Masters title early, and Lance Lehrman has locked up the championship in the Dallas Karting Complex DD2 Masters but will have some competition at NOLA as racers prepare for the upcoming Pan-American Challenge.

Pre-registration for rounds nine and ten are open until midnight, September 29 at the following Link. The host hotels for the event include the Best Western Bayou Inn for the TPKC rate of $85 or the Best Western Plus Westbank for $89.99 a night.
